This undated photo of Sarah Helen Carpender Corson is encased in protective cardboard that also serves as a frame. The cardboard is grey. The decorative mat that frames the photo is marbled with blue and grey. Including the mat/frame, it measures 8 1/2" x 6"; the image alone measures 5 5/8" x 3 5/8". The words at the bottom read "Portrait by Charles Pierce, Waterloo, IA."

This is an undated photograph of my great, great grandmother Sarah Helen Carpender Corson. She was married to Cyrus Corson.

I have cropped this image, leaving out the decorative matting that surrounds the image. Otherwise, the photo is unaltered. It is sepia toned, finished with a linen texture. The original measures 10" x 6 15/16" (the part that is shown here measures 6 1/2" x 4"). The bottom right hand corner has raised print that spells "FLINT" (not included in the image on the right).

Cyrus Corson Photo

This is one of two photos that I have of Cyrus Corson. It measures 5 5/8" by 4 1/4" including the mat. The photo has not been altered in any way. However, it appears that the bottom of the mat has been shortened. The mat is embossed on the lower right hand side, but most of the information has been cut off. I'll work on including a short bio of Cyrus Corson in the near future.
